The Asia Cup 2025 is like to start from September 5 in the UAE as per reports in the Times of India. India and Pakistan are set to play on September 7 and the final is likely to be played on September 21.
Despite previous reports of the tournament likely to be called off on the back of India-Pakistan political turmoil, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has figured out a window in September to host the tournament.
UAE is being seen as the likely venue for the tournament with India likely to play all their matches in Dubai. Earlier this year, India played all their matches in Dubai, including the one against Pakistan. They won the title, eventually beating The Kiwis in the final.

The six-team tournament will feature India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and the UAE. The tournament will be played in the T20I format, with matches to be played in group stage and Super 4 format. India and Pakistan are likely to play twice on September 7 and 14, respectively.
Meanwhile, previously, there were reports of India's pullout from the tournament, which was categorically denied by BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia.
“The Asia Cup matter or any other ACC event issue has not come up for discussion at any level,"… till now, BCCI has not even discussed or taken any such steps regarding ensuing ACC events, leave alone writing anything to the ACC. At this stage, our prime focus is on the ongoing IPL and subsequent England series, both men and women" Saikia had said in a statement.
India are the defending champions of the tournament, having won the 2023 edition under Rohit Sharma. Rohit, along with winning the Asia Cup, went on to win the T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy under his captaincy tenure.
