The Harmanpreet Kaur-led India women's team were felicitated by the Indian High Commission on Sunday as they hosted a special ceremony to honour the Indian women's team.
The event was held at Aldwych in Central London. There was a sense of patriotism on the occasion with the legacy of the Indian players who have represented the nation.
The entire women's squad attended the event and they were received with a lot of warmth. The fans came in large numbers to see the players of the national women's cricket team.

Vikram Doraiswami, High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom, addressed the gathering and praised the team's recent performances and growing stature in world cricket.
"You are not just athletes; you are role models and ambassadors of a rising India. “Today there is nothing that young Indian women feel they cannot do because of you and an earlier generation of cricket players… You have magic with you and you share it with us everywhere you play on the field, for which we are very, very grateful,” Indian High Commissioner to the UK Vikram Doraiswami told the Indian Women's Cricket team at India House in London.
The fans gathered at the ceremony got an opportunity to interact with the women cricketers and had their fan moment with the likes of Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues amongst others.

The Indian women's team are currently leading the five-match T20I series 2-1. They won the first two games by 97 runs and 24 runs respectively. England won the third T20I by five runs. The final two games are in Edgbaston Manchester (July 6) and Edgbaston (July 12) with the Indian eves looking to win the series.
After the five-match T20I series, both teams will play a three-match ODI series with the first game on July 16 (Wednesday).

Team India Closing In On Edgbaston Win
Meanwhile, the Indian men's team are also involved in a Test series in England. They lost the first Test to kick off their new WTC cycle and have England under pressure in the second Test. The hosts are chasing 608 runs to win the second Test and still need 536 runs on day five.
