India are in a commanding position in the ongoing second Test against England in Edgbaston. The visitors posted a huge score of 587 on the back of a sparkling double-hundred by skipper Shubman Gill's 269. Later, on the second day, they also picked three wickets to leave England reeling at 77 for the loss of three wickets. Cricketer-turned-expert Aakash Chopra stated India have posted enough runs and that the match could end in a draw or a win for the visitors.

The former India opening batter also said an England win looks highly impossible from this situation. While the hots have won from such difficult situations, Chopra believes this time it is not possible.

"You have scored enough runs to feel you are in a great space. Logically speaking, if we turn back the pages of Test cricket history, only one team can win from here, that is Team India, or else the match can end in a draw. England winning from here seems improbable," Chopra said while speaking on his official YouTube channel.

Pitches in England have become a lot more flat: Aakash Chopra

Chopra also said an England win will not shock a lot of experts from even this situation as the pitches there have become a lot more flat than what was in previous years.

"If you see the conditions, pitches have become flatter, whether you play at Headingley or Edgbaston. I am saying you will get a flat pitch at Lord's as well. The typical and traditional English conditions, where you have to play cautiously, are part of the pages of history," he said.

Also, the boundary sizes have been reduced drastically to aid run-scoring. That India and England scoring above 3.50 runs per over is a testimony to that fact.

"These are not that difficult conditions to bat. If you see the boundaries, the Edgbaston boundaries have been kept at 60 meters because Bazball encourages you to play shots in the air. Mishits should go for sixes, you should get fours easily, and the scoring rate should be fast," Chopra observed.
